Metacam Solution for Injection for Horses, contains Meloxicam & is licensed to treat pain & inflammation associated with both acute & chronic musculoskeletal conditions in the horse, eg. laminitis; osteoarthritis. It is also used for the relief of pain associated with equine colic.

It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is antipyretic (lowers fevers), anti-endotoxic, anti-exudative & has a low ulcerogenic potential. It works by inhibiting the body from synthesising prostaglandins, which facilitate pain & trigger inflammatory processes & pyrogens (substances which cause a fever).

This product requires a prescription from your vet & will only be dispatched once we receive this prescription.

Legal Category- POM-V

Warnings & Contraindications- Do not use in horses allergic to meloxicam or under 6 weeks old or with stomach ulcers or reduced liver, heart or kidney function or bleeding disorders. Do not give within 24 hours of giving another NSAID or corticosteroid, please contact your vet or our helpline if unsure.

Pregnancy & Lactation- Do not use in mares that are pregnant or lactating.

This item is a prescription medication and cannot be sent until a valid prescription is received. Please note, we only accept prescriptions written by vets registered in the UK with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

We send all our prescription medication by a tracked courier service and dispatch only occurs on a Monday to Thursday.

Premium next day delivery is also available for this item but we must receive the order and prescription by 12 noon.
